Q. How do I purchase one of these remarkable paintings?

Q. What do I get when I purchase one?
A. you get an original oil painting painted in one go - Alla Prima from life by Julie. it will come wrapped on a A4 sized board with an acid free mount and protected in cellophane to show off its splendour. It can be kept like this or framed as you wish. Framing questions are answered below.
Q. When will the paintings be shipped?
A. All purchased paintings will be shipped after the exhibition during the week beginning 18th May.
Q. How long will shipping take?
A. The shipping destination will affect the duration of shipping but please allow up to 6 weeks if you are on the other side of the world.
Q. How do customs and import taxes work?
A. Customs and import taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser (you) as they are very country dependent an I have no way of working them out, please be aware that particularly the uk there may be substantial customs and tax charges on the value of the painting, its postage and packing and a tax collection fee, I would recommend checking prior to purchase.
Q. What size are these special paintings?
A. Each painting is 24cm wide x 14 cm high, painted on a piece of Linen which is at least 34cm x 23cm though sizes vary slightly.
Q. What materials are used to make these pictures?
A. Each one is made using a piece of high quality Linen which has a transparent primer on it to protect it from the oil paint. It is painted using Winsor and Newton Artist Quality Oil Paints and mediums. It is displayed on an acid free board with an acid free mount and cellophane wrap.
Q. Where do you ship too?
A. Almost anywhere in the world, including Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, Europe. This is dependent on current Covid-19 regulations and restrictions.
Q. How much does shipping cost?
A. Shipping is free for these pictures, but see Q. regarding Customs and Import tax charges.
Q. How many pictures are in this series?
A. 100.
Q. Can I frame these under glass?
A. these pictures can be framed under glass and the board and mount they are sent with should fit into a standard A4 frame.
Q. Can I stretch these on deep stretcher bars?
A. Yes, there should be sufficient linen around the painting to stretch it on deep stretcher bars, otherwise know as box canvases. Please consult your favourite framer. If you are in Brisbane I recommend Michelle at Centenary Framing.
Q. Can I stretch here on narrow stretcher bars?
A. Yes, there is sufficient linen around the painting to stretch it on narrow stretcher bars. Please consult your favourite framer. If you are in Brisbane I recommend Michelle at Centenary Framing.
Q. If I stretch these can I frame them?
A. Yes, a shadow Fram will be suitable for paints stretched on deep stretcher bars, and decorative frames will suit the narrow stretcher bar stretching. Please consult your favourite framer for the most suitable mouldings. If you are in Brisbane I recommend Michelle at Centenary Framing.
Q. Can I group more than one of these as a collection?
A. Absolutely these will look splendid as a group, there are a number of layouts which will work, the only limit it your imagination.

A. Yes, Each one is totally unique, even if the subject is similar, they are individually painted by hand using all the knowledge about composition, tone, colour and skill that Julie has amassed over the many years she has been painting.

A. Yes, each one is careful painted from an arrangement of objects under a light in a shadow box in front of Julie.
Q. What is Alla Prima?
A. Alla prima is a direct painting approach where paint is applied wet on wet without letting earlier layers dry.
Q. What is Still Life?
A. A still life is a piece that features an arrangement of inanimate objects as its subject. Usually, these items are set on a surface and often include organic objects like fruit and flowers and household items like glassware and textiles.
