100 Alla Prima Still life Oil Paintings in 100 Days by Julie Cane
I started 2020 with the decision to challenge myself, I had a number of artistic goals and personal goals to achieve.
So the challenge was set as 100 Alla Prima Still life Oil Paintings in 100 Days, capturing the beauty of nature.
Alla Prima Painting (painting a picture in one go - wet into wet) had long been an ambition. I decided on a 100 Day Challenge, as I like a good challenge, and I wanted to capture natures beauty, refine my skills, produce paintings that would post easily around the world, and were a size I could achieve in a couple of hours. The last part did not quite go to plan, some took up to 8 hours to complete! And apart from the first and last they are all subjects from the natural world.
The other thing that was not part of the plan was a global pandemic, this has seen the cancellation of the exhibition I was going to show them at, and created a tremendous extra stress in the middle of the challenge, with a combination of fear, home schooling for my two children, and lockdown reducing available subjects, it certainly became a bigger challenge than I planned!
The result however I am very pleased with and proud of, as is a good body work. Please enjoy it.
Please see the 100 Days Frequently Asked Questions Page for details about size, format, presentation, shipping etc. or please contact me, I would love to help :-) All 100 are shown below, if you wish to see a larger version, then right click and 'open image in a new tab' should work.
